Ranking All Seven Defense Against the Dark Arts Professors

Image
We all know Voldemort cursed the Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA) position after he was rejected as a candidate. This allowed for an intriguing plot device as Harry has new and unique experiences with every DADA professor he encounters in his years at Hogwarts. Let’s see who was the best! Amycus Carrow Decidedly the worst on the list, simply because we don’t know or see much about him since Harry isn’t at Hogwarts for most of his seventh year. We do know Amycus and his sister Alecto were horrible people though as they basically turned Hogwarts into a prison for their students.  Somehow though, Amycus may not have even been the worst Death Eater to hold the DADA position. But he spit in McGonagall’s face, so that automatically puts him at the bottom of any list. 6. Quirinius Quirrell Perhaps a surprise to rank so low, but Quirrell didn’t have much chance to leave a huge mark in the series...

Top 5 Character Arcs in the MCU

Image
Top 5 Character Arcs in the MCU The Marvel Cinematic Universe has included over 700 characters since it first launched back in 2008. There’s many heroes and villains to choose from for your favorite, but not all character arcs are created equally in the MCU. Some characters we see a lot, but they don’t change much. Others, it’s the exact opposite. So join us as we discuss the top 5 character arcs in the MCU. Criteria 1. Must have appeared more than once in the MCU as of writing this (Sorry Shang-Chi) 2. Must have changed/developed notably throughout the series (Sorry Hawkeye) 3. Must have grown for the better (Sorry Nick Fury’s Secret Invasion)  4. Must be earned through story development and not production changes (Sorry Thor) 5. Peter Parker/Spider-Man I’ll admit, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Peter Parker for the majority of his appearances in the MCU. He was a 15 year-old kid, and he certainly acted like it. I know that’s part of what Spider-Man is, but I just wasn’t into the hig...

All MCU Movies Ranked 2024: The Best MCU Movies (S Tier)

Image
Unintentionally, all of the tiers in this ranking mirror each other. There are exactly 17 movies in the lower three tiers and upper three. There are also 4 movies in S Tier and 4 in F tier. I think this balance makes sense since I wasn’t too critical in the F Tier, but very exclusive in S Tier. These are movies that rise to the highest degree of MCU storytelling and importance. Worst in Tier: Iron Man 3 (2013) Tony Stark once said to Peter Parker, “If you’re nothing without the suit, then you shouldn’t have it.” He could only say that because he proved it in Iron Man 3  first. This movie once again shows Tony’s humanity as he struggles with PTSD from the Battle of New York and growing anxiety over where the path he was on would lead him. It feels like at this point he already knew one day he’d die as an Avenger, but that doesn’t stop him from going toe to toe with the Mandarin and Aldrich Killian. The destruction of his house symbolizes the end of his playboy lifestyle as he...
